From Cartridge Lakes  Sucess!

This one is a long way from anywhere, but the dunk in the lakes after a loooong ridge walk to get over to the summit was well worth it :)

Wicked!  Sucess!

A very cool day following the ridge from State Peak after climbing it from State Lakes. Bivied on State Peak and followed the ridge (well bailed off the first subpeak to the NE and not sure that was any easier... nearly fell). 4th class downclimb to the notch right below Marion and then easy class three up the SE ridge (gully to the right of it actually).

To get back to Roads End I blazed a path down the South Fork Kings River... very wild and remote area! Spent half the time in the river due to thick brush, saw FIVE bears on the way out. Took 5 hrs to go 6 miles. Great adventure!
