There's a lot of wisdom in your story, Gangolf! That's how it allways happen, to you, to me, to everyone. I like the 'Hochmut kommt vor dem Fall' proverb. Otherwise you seem to be right in observing how much people of different nations talk in mountains. However, you're not right in one thing: The summit of Pelmo is not too hard for you and Judith. On Ball Band you need to go carefully, there are a few places where climbing is needed, but not harder than UIAA II. Passo del Gatto is a fine passage, where you might want to belay, but goes also without a rope. I was not on the summit of Furchetta, but as you said that it was not hard for you, I believe that technically Pelmo is easier. Of course you need good weather too, because you can't return running down in case of a storm or so...

Good luck with further adventures at Monte Pelmo. BTW the saying is of such antiquity that it is usually rendered
