Make a bit more contrastThis is a great shot! Four stars! You kept it completely natural. But it's not such a big sin to add a little more contrast.

Re: Make a bit more contrastThanks for the note.
Having looked at your pics, I'm happy to accept constructive criticism from you. Your photos are excellent. Do you publish any?
Outdoor photography has recently become of more interest than just memories of time spent in the mountains.
I fear my expertise is limited by equipment, patience to spend climb time working up best shots & laziness (don't want to carry extra weight of tripod which would improve many pics)
Wonder if you would share some of your key / basic philosophies & lessons of best wildnerness photography?
On the original subject of adding contrast....... I have always presented my climb pics in natural state because I did wonder if digital enhancements to photos was acceptable. Felt like a way to compensate for not having taken the photo correctly in the first place or not having been blessed with the best light / atmospheric conditions.
Assume you adjust some of your photos and that doing this is not "frowned upon" in the world of photograhy?

Re: Make a bit more contrastWhat do you mean if I am publishing my pics? I post them free on the web.
Sharing my expertise - well, I don't have any systematic knowledge. Just 30 years of experience in mountains.
If I do corrections - only slight ones: a little more sharpness and contrast and coming close to what I remember were natural colours. And that's all. I don't use tripod either, nor special lenses etc.
Cheers!

Re: Make a bit more contrastappreciate the follow up note.
Some of your photography was of such high quality, I was curious to know if it was every displayed in an artistic photography showing or published in a book or travel guide.
It is great you share on the web. Just thought your photos might be beautiful in hard copy as well.
