First mountain!  Sucess!

Did this beauty on the second day of our trip. We had the famous panorama from venediger to glockner, but when we where at the hut, it started to rain. It was my first mountain summit. Can't start high enough huh ;)

traverse with heavy load  Sucess!

My friend and I had planned to do a glacier climb on Hohe Fuerlegg when we reached Neue Thueringer hut on a very fine but hot afternoon. But then he told me that he did not dare the climb because of rockfall danger (we almost were killed from rockfall two days earlier). I had a different opinion but I could not do the climb alone and so we hiked with big bootes, ice axes and rope the next day via Larmkogel to Hollersbach valley. The day was fine but I could not enjoy the trip properly.

Larmkogel during the heat wave  Sucess!

Well, it wasn't all that hot on the summit, even though the weather was fantastic, and as I went up the west slope from Neue Thüringer hut, there was a very stormy wind. Yet down in the valleys it sure was hot - going up to Neue Thüringer hut the previous afternoon was really hard work! The hike itself was very enjoyable - no difficulties at all, very well constructed and marked trails all along the way, and gorgeous views to both sides from Larmkogel and Larmkogelscharte col! I did permit myself the luxury of taking the bus to the end of Habachtal valley and a taxi shuttle back down from the end of Hollersbachtal valley, though...10 kilometers of marching on the road down the entire Hollersbachtal valley in that heat, right after the six-and-a-half hour hike from Neue Thüringer hut, was something I decided to avoid, if possible...
