Västra Leden / Western Route climbed
Nice climb from the Western side. No crampons required, although we had zero visibility at the peak due to low clouds. We didn't bother with the Northern Summit. The visibility and weather were great just below the summit, and from the summit hut you could see as far as eye can reach.

Western route
Nice climb via the western route. We made a tented camp in the end of the lovely but windy Kitteldalen. The glaciated summitridge offered no problems. No crampons needed, the snow was in rather good condition. Nice weather all day but limited views from the summit. A long hike back to Kebnekasie Fjällstation. Climbed together with my girlfriend Åsa Dahlgren.
Did Östra once in 94 with my dad, halspasset with an alpine climingcourse in 2003 and Västra comming from storglaciären in 2004

East Route
Second climb of the week. Another glorious day. Much more fun than west route. Used professional guide. They wouldn't take anyone under age 16, so I had my young friend hike to Tarfala with some bunkmates from the Kebnekaise Mountain Station.

West Route
Beautiful day! Climbed with the 14-year old son of good friend. 5800 feet of elevation gain. Interesting city of cairns on intermediate mountain top.

Nice daytrip
Climbed through West route on a sunny day, on the end of our Kungsleden hike. A really nice daytrip with a good height difference. The actual glaciated top was scary in hiking shoes, it's a wonder not more people fall!

snowstorm
Climbed the peak in September 2004 with two friends. Normal route from the mountain refuge. Weather was ok until the last 300 height meter, where it started snowing and wind was really strong. Used the compas to find the top, but sadly no view.
We were following the kungsleden and this was a nice extension on day three. Left our backpacks at the(?) hut, and went back and forth. Nice part of europe.
Route Climbed: Västra leden Date Climbed: 10. August 2003
Excellent weather. No snow until Sydtopp's glacier peak. Camping near Fjällstation.
Our trip: First, we went up to Tuolpagorni - this 'Extra peak' is fantastic, more than worthwile, but I recommend to do it before continuing ascent to Kebnekaise - after that, one's maybe too weary. We continued our route up and down Vieranvarri, and reached Kebnekaise Sydtopp without crampons.
Route Climbed: Winter route via Sinnivaggi (from west) Date Climbed: 25 March 2005
Excellent weather. There were almost no clouds at all on the sky when we reached the summit at 18:00.
We took our skis off near Kaffedalen, attached them to our backpacks and continued walking. As there was lots of soft snow, snow shoes would have been good choice for the final ascent - at least much better than the telemark skiing shoes I had.
As both of us are quite inexperienced downhill skiers, we decided to walk down from the summit back to the place where we took off our skis. From there we skied back to our camp nearby Sälka - some 15 kilometers of skiing.
Route Climbed: Östra Leden Date Climbed: 23 july 2004
Nice weather, nice view!
Been there again 18.10.07. Summited this time via Västra Leden. Lot of snow and ice on the route. There was no one else around and we got the whole mountain all for ourselves. Back to our tents, we were rewarded with magnificent northern lights! What a great day...
