"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Jones HillIn the late evening, I climbed Jones Hill near the Buffalo Peaks. My route up had quite a bit of fallen timber at the beginning. Since it had rained hard in the afternoon and evening, I got soaked walking though the vegetation. I reached the summit right around dark, but didn't hang out at all since I was wet and twilight was almost gone. The moon provided some light though.
On the way back I found a route that didn't have as much fallen timber. I saw a tan colored animal run though the trees. Perhaps it was a mountain lion? I can't think of any other tan animals.
I was glad to reach the vehicle since the climb had taken me longer than I expected.

From the southNice little solo pre-Christmas romp through the snow with Angel the Nottweiler. Cold, but never got snowed on (the snow stayed on the high peaks).
