Re: must be looking north...Nope. Looking closer to south. First peak behind John on the far left is South Massive, Elbert is just out of frame to the left. Center horizon? I'm not sure.

Re: must be looking north...Well, if south is dead ahead, the sun is coming in from the east, so this must have been taken pretty early in the AM. Congrats on a really early start! You were fortunate to have such clear air.

Re: must be looking north...My vote would be for Grizzly Peak or something in the Elks. The distance looks about right.

Looking Roughly WestWe're looking roughly west, a bit south in this photo. That is Castle Peak on the horizon, the southernmost fourteener in the Elk Range. I have a hunch the mountain in the foreground is Deer Mountain.
