Old Butt to Shining Rock Gap, Art Loeb to Deep Gap - Cold Mountain - Art Loeb to Daniel Boone Camp - Little East Fork back to Shining Rock and then Shining Creek Trail back to trailhead, right? I would roughly estimate 6800 ft total gain (and loss) with the 2 significant ascents from Big East Fork and the Camp plus the bumps between Old Butt and Cold Mountain. I have hiked all of these trails (some very often)... this is one spectacular area - especially in the winter when the crowds are down.

I love Cold MountainIt was my first "real" mountain hiked last year. Great picture with the low clouds.
