Re: In DenmarkThat's great! I'm assuming that the Goddess
'Venus' must have had the most beautiful hair
in the universe?? [She had to (to) have a fern
named after her!]
But then, what do I know about Venus???

Re: Beautiful!Chin hair? Geez Trina, I'm assuming that you
always keep "binocular man" in stitches with
your remarkable style of humor.
You have some truly awesome photos of the PNW!
Are you going to take a break now, or are you going to head up to Chinook or Snoqualmie
Pass and partake in some "winter mountaineering" activities???
Whatever - I always wish you the best of luck!

I'm JealousThis beautiful photo makes me feel jealous. I bet the limestone's centuries - not just a half - old, and it still attracts maidenhair.

Re: I'm JealousYes, maidenhair is a very attractive species
of fern. I can't understand why it's attracted to a very old piece of limestone,
but there's a reason for everything. :))
Thank you my friend! -Larry

It grows also in IstriaWe found it in dark, wet creek ravines. In Slovenian it's also called Venerini lasci (Venus hair ferns).

Re: It grows also in IstriaThat's where I found this species - it was
growing inside a dark, wet creek ravine
beneath a Sycamore or Plains tree.
Hey Vid, could you please attach a few of
your images to my Calcium Carbonate Corner album?? - Hvala from Larry

YesOver here it is called Gospin vlasak
Very good tea for kidney/bladder related problems,
probably second best to bearberry tea.

Re: YesThanks, guys! I'm sure it has many names!
If I was a "globetrotter," I'd be able to
fly across the "Big Pond" more often.
Then, I could compare this species with its
European counterpart.
I think I'll gather some up for tea!!!
Unfortunately, I ate too much food (once again) for the traditional feast. Hvala, my friend!!!
