halfmoon trail
Hit a rough day physically, but the weather was beautiful. Especially didn't enjoy the loss of elevation during the initial part of the trail which translates to a gain of elevation on the way back. Would love to spend more time in that general wilderness area someday though, just breathtaking.
We had a beautiful day for this one - excellent views from the top. The climb back to the top of the pass on the way out was a bit rough after already summiting.
Wisely done as backpack to squeeze summit between thunderstorms

Last Day of Summer?
Beautiful hike! Took the North Ridge route, starting at 7am and returning to the trailhead at 4:30pm. Beware of the 900-somethin' foot elevation gain ON THE WAY BACK. True test of endurance for a one-day climb, but worth every gruelling second.

What a schlep!
This was a training hike for our Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness 4-pass loop trip later in the year and MAN was it tough. We hiked over Half Moon Pass and camped, tackling the summit the next morning. We spent another night at East Cross Creek, then hiked out the next morning - this was a challenging summit!

North Ridge, 3 days
Hiked in and camped on Sep 9th with my dad and his friend Tom. Great views of the mountain. Clouds covered the peak on the 10th. There was about 3-4 inches of snow on the mountain. No views on the summit when we arived. Spent over an hour on the summit occationally seeing a short distance view. Clouds started to lift as we sescended down. The 11th we hiked out and only I made it to the summit of Notch Mountain. A few inches of snow dusted the mountain making the Cross very clear. Very impressive.
8th 14er.

Climbed Holy Cross as my first 14er. Climbed with my two adult sons. Left our campsite at East Cross Creek at 4:45am. Summited at 9:30am. Sunny, cold and all to ourselves. Amazing!

North Ridge
Great to revisit this area. I climbed it 12 years prior and it brought back many memories.
Great hike, incredible mountain. The only drawback was the bugs. We got eaten alive all the way to 13k'. The clouds built fast, but never made a move on us. A perfect day.
Halfmoon TH, Ascend Halo Ridge, Descend North Ridge
This route requires lots of scrambling but lets you see the cross.

Angelica
My first ever technical snow climb! It was tremendous fun! Climbed with All Yeah Boy. We hiked in Friday niht and camped at the creek. Thanks to Andy for the awesome beta on the climbers trail to get to the Lake Patricia area. Can't wait to do more of this type stuff.
Started up at 4:00AM under mostly cloudy skies, saw only a guy and his dog the entire way up. Reached an empty summit at 8:42 with heavy rising clouds all-around, stayed about 25 mins then back down through rain showers to the TH at 12:42PM. My 25th 14'er on this fine wet day in Colorado. Sweet!!!

Cross Couloir, crazy people
With Eric Holle. Great day, good snow, descended Angelica couloir with a slushy glissade. There was a single guy ahead of us who must have taken a good tumble: we found 1 work stinx tele ski, 2 ski poles, and a shovel. Pair behind us brought the ski up and placed it in the summit rocks. Dude must have been a bit wigged-out to not get the gear or wait for us to grab it for him... $700-day ouch!
