from Albergad  Sucess!

I can second each of selinunte01's words. It's funny that I climbed Hohes Kreuzjoch two days earlier. We started at Albergad (1613m) on the road from Schluderns to Tanas. Route finding to the ridge at Koepflplatte was a bit tricky because of many not marked tracks. After having reached the summit of Hohes Kreuzjoch we proceeded to Madatschknott (3051m). Ascent and descent are long and the days are short in November. So we reached our car just at the beginning of darkness. I've never met such dreamlike golden larches as there!

Re: from Albergad

Hi Mathias,
thats real funny, I summited only two days later than you! It has been the fourth time for me to stay at upper Vinschgau for hiking that late in the year. The Lärchen woods and the sunlight are incomparable and unique. Unfortunately I had to fight a cold in these days and I could not proceed to Madatschknott, it would have been too much for that day.
Next time I will try Litzner and Remsspitze, hopefully this will be in autumn 2009.
Cheers, selinunte01

autumn dreams  Sucess!

Took the route from Gials up to Köpflplatte and Kalterer, down from Kalterer to Inneralp. It was an autumn dream of golden Lärchen woods and this unbelievable, wonderful autumn sun light of the upper Vinschgau valley. We met nobody, I cannot believe this. Its the best season for hiking in the upper Vinschgau ....
