You'll enjoy this little hike. Bob left the Jim Beam in the cabin for ya so have one on him. Getting a pic of the full mountain is a toughie. Dennis Poulin did a 14 mile hike in order to get the pic I'm using as the cover pic for this page just two days ago. He said he had to do three miles of bushwhacking to get in position and had to deal with a blood sucking tick for his troubles. Thanks for voting and you will have picked up another Oregon county highpoint.
Sorry I missed this one being posted until now. I've seen this hike listed in one of Sullivan's books. Almost did it last summer but instead did Tipsoo Peak on my way back from California. I'll have to get back down to this area and knock this one off this year. Great page!
Thanks Brian. Have you ever counted up how many of Oregon's county highpoints you've done? I put a listing on this Sacajawea trip report page. I'm betting you are well along. If you have any real interest in this arena, be sure to talk to Bob about it on the 25th. I wish it wasn't on weds, I would really enjoy meeting everyone. Again thanks for the vote and your comments.
I counted 11 that I have now. Plans include 4 or 5 this year incidentally (depending on which route up Jefferson I go). I may have to look into this more sometime. :- ) Too bad you won't be there the 25th but I am sure we'll hook up for a climb this year sometime.
Thanks Don, I'm glad you enjoyed the mountain. I've got to go back down there myself and pick up the prominence peaks you see here
Isabelle, 8 dollar, Squaw, King, Grayback (different one east of Bolivar, Ashland,Brown, Aspen, Pelican, etc and Bear Mtn, a cohp in No Cal ) Geez, you gotta love this stuff.
