Wolf Jaw Lean-to -> Gothics -> Armstrong -> U. Wolfjaw -> Wolf Jaw Lean-to
Part of a three day camping trip. Left my full pack at the lean-to and day hiked these three. Lots of people on top of all three since it was Columbus Day weekend. Beautiful day and great views though. High Peak #10.
Climbed via the Weld Trail to the Gothics/Sawteeth col then had a blast scrambling up the 1200' vertical over the last mile. Nice clear day with only two other people on the top. The views from Pyramid and Gothics are well worth the effort...

Gothics
Climbed with Armstrong via Range Trail from the Ausable Club. Definately one of the best (and thus most visited) hike in the Adirondack High Peak Region. Could see most of the High Peaks from the top. Had a blast exploring the caves just below the summit!

Cables
This was part of an 18+ mile loop that included Upper Wolf Jaw, Armstrong, Gothics, Saddleback, and Basin. The "trail" up the west side was quite steep. I wouldn't want to do it in a downpour.
Twice in deep snow, once in full-blown winter. At least once I backpacked over the top on a Range traverse.
I'm trying to go back and sign all the logs for Adk and other NE peaks... this will take a while...

North Face
Really great climb. We pitched it out so it took significantly longer than 7 hours (that's f#$king fast!) great alpine route with fun route finding. More ice than i was expecting (ugh....so tired!!) the day started off w/wind and snow but ended up clear and beautiful.

North Face (solo)
Finally did this one. The round-trip took about 7 hours with about 45 min to climb the route. There was a really cool cornice on the summit. I lost my driver's license somewhere along the way, but it showed up in the mail about a week later. Good conditions on the approach and on the route.
I've also done some of the other High Peaks (on days when climbing wasn't possible):
Big Slide 9/14/08
Phelps 2/18/08
Cascade 1/10/04
Porter 1/10/04
Giant 1/11/04

1. good thing we had snowshoes; we had to break trail the whole way!
This was nice day in the mountains. Really pretty views when we were fortunate enough to see them.

From Sawteeth...
Hiking from Sawteeth and over Pyramid. Windy, misty, foggy, cloudy, sprinkly at the top. Didn't stay too long because of the wind, but nice views and a neat peak. My favorite of the day. Headed to Armstrong and the Wolfjaws from there. #8/46
Have done this loop twice, once as a dayhike once on an overnight trip both times from the Garden via the ore bed brook trail. Love the cables section.

wolfjaw, armstrong, gothics
Upper Wolfjaw, Armstrong, Gothics & Pyramid. Came up the Wedge Brook trail to the ridge, followed ridge to Gothics. Came down over Pyramid & the Weld trail to Lower Ausable Lake. It was cold. VERY windy. Tent was lifting up with 3 adults in it. Broke trail, lots of snow. Never used the crampons. Got a bit turned around on Gothics. We meant to continue to Saddleback.
