Brandon "Gnomeboy" Sims and I left our camp at Goblins Forest early on the morning of 05AUG04. Gnomeboy has spent the last several days hauling gear, and supplies for everyone within shouting distance, so changing his name to "Sherpaboy" is seriously being considered...... We reached the Boulderfield at sunup, and proceeded through the Keyhole. The Ledges were relatively uneventful, except for what Gnome termed his "Leap of Death." Turns out that the kid has more nerve than even he thought he did. The Trough was filled with Ice and Snow, so we had to traverse up the left side. We had fun watching several idiots trying to climb up the snow/ice with tennis shoes on. No crampons, no ice axes...... The Narrows were a fun scramble, and the Homestretch was made a bit more treacherous by people above knocking rocks and small boulders loose from above us. All in all, it was a good trip. Gnome did a good job, considering this was his first peak.
