fun looking

That pitch looks fun. Is the rest of the route as nice?

Re: fun looking

Craig: Absolutely, the route is great. Starts a bit alpine for couple of pitches, but cleans up the higher you go. From about pitch 3-4 on up, it's like the photo, clean and good rock. A bit stiff for the rating, the original 5.7 is laughable, Greg Vernon told me some years ago, don't you know Al Green's routes in the Sierra? I would recommed this fully. It's long, technical and the approach is easy via Maysan Lakes trail. Go do it bro..

Wow!

I sent this description on to Austin Archer. He's interested in it. He didn't seem to think anything was on it. I'm sure a close neighboring variation can be done. Looks like a "beaut"!!

Dave and Austin

Check out Misha's East Face Of Irvine photo # 87703. The route follows the steep arete from the middle of the orange triangular wall at the base. Wonderful, long route. Variations are possible but will be more difficult. Should be on everyone's list but it isn't, maybe the rap slings on the first 10 pitches give the reasons and the answer. But it should be an inspiration not deterent. When hords of people are on Whitney next door, this route sees nobody year after year. Go and do it!
