Dan...So Ben Nevis is capped by an
intrusion of granite and volcanic
tuff! I didn't know that. Isn't
it funny how some people say,
"look at that stupid rock!"
Actually, all rocks have names and
can be identified by their unique
composition and texture. Knowing
how the Earth was formed makes
respecting the Earth so much more
interesting and important. THANKS!

Re: Dan...I totally agree, when ever I'm out, whether it's in the mountains or not, I'm alwasy studying the landforms and rocks trying to work out what processes bought them top be. Having an understanding of an area's geology can enrich ones experience of the outdoors so much.
