"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

I wish the cloud ceiling had been higher. I understand that the views from Flat Top toward Sharp Top are really nice.

Untitled CommentSure doesn't look so flat to me. Good pix and route description.

Yeah, it's a wonder how it got its name. I assume it's because it has a long, level ridgetop that runs for about a mile with little change in elevation. But from several angles it is every bit as abrupt in appearance as Sharp Top.

Untitled CommentCan you group this mountain with any other groups?
BobSmith - Nov 25, 2004 9:04 am - Hasn't voted
Untitled CommentHmmm. Not sure. It's a bit south of Shenandoah. Considered to be solidly in central Virginia. The highest peak in central Virginia is a few miles north. It is along the crest of the Blue Ridge, but the Blue Ridge runs for hundreds of miles.
Thanks for the vote!
