"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

A solo start to 2013Dreary snowshoe slog up the forest portion opened to a crunchy, beautiful blue bird ridge walk and summit. 360 degree views from the top.

Take The Shorter Variation (Like We Did)This peak was easy-going. Eric, Fletcher, Rob, Sergey, and I hiked up the snowy forested NE ridge slopes southward until reaching the east ridgetop at ~5000' elevation. This was a very straightforward approach that saved *a lot* of time and miles, rather than following the east ridge in its entirety (as this route page implies).
From there, it looked like *a lot* of snowshoers and/or cross-country skiers had been following the ridgetop to the summit. The summit has great views, especially ofthe Chiwaukums, Jim Hill Mountain, and the Rock/Mastiff/Howard conglomerate. Highly recommended peak!
