nice short day
This must be awesome in winter! I took all sorts of emergency stuff because I didn't know the area, and ended up seeing about 100 people with little to no gear, no packs, pint water bottles, etc.!
East ridge instructions on sp are totally adequate.

Favorite Central Wasatch hike
My favorite overall hike in the Central Wasatch to this point. This hike had a little bit of everything, and wasn't as difficult as some of the others I've done. It started off with a trail through aspen and pine trees, wound around Red Pine Lake (with great views of Cottonwood Ridge to the north and lots of colorful wildflowers), had some boulder-hopping from the lake on up to the east ridge, and a short bit of fun scrambling on the east ridge before the final ascent to the summit. Quite a few people were on the mountain this day, which is understandable because for a relatively short hike you get a lot of bang for your buck. The cliff on the summit was pretty cool as well. See "Little Cottonwood Canyon Doubleheader" trip report for details.

Fantastic Views!
This route is awesome. It offers fantastic views in all directions.
May, 2002 - Great day hike. Hiked from 10 am 'till 3 pm. Celebrated w/ some brewskis with fellow Wasatch Mountain Club hikers. One of my favorite hikes. I've gotta try this peak in the winter. I also have ambitions to do it again as part of the Beatout Ridgerun.
January, 2004 - Great snowshoe, although I couldn't see much through the thick cloud cover.
