Great Views
Beautiful hike with great views. The two false summits are actually more strenuous than I originally thought. However, the ascent via the firebreak is a lot of fun. Brown Mountain certainly is on the top of the peaks with great 360 degree views in that area. I had to rush back to Eaton Saddle because of my worries about the Sierra Madre fire. There was a lot of smoke drifting towards Eaton Saddle when I was on Brown Mountain summit.
I've done this route quite a few times. The ridge is beautifully positioned between the gapping Bear Canyon and Millard Canyon on the other (valley floor) side. The 3 major ups and downs to reach the summit and return will give you a little workout.

Nice Route to Lower PeakI've done this route quite a few times. The ridge is beautifully positioned between the gapping Bear Canyon and Millard Canyon on the other (valley floor) side. The 3 major ups and downs to reach the summit and return will give you a little workout.
