The Scorps

It was fun to read a TR that had a little rock-n-roll in it. Even a few photos of the aging old fellas. I saw them in the 80's and its amazing they can still rock. Are you ready California, Are you ready. A good all around Trip report.

Re: The Scorps

Thanks much. Yeah, Rudy Schenker is about the fittest 63 year old I've ever seen. They put on a great show and it was neat to finally tick off the bucketlist of seeing a show at Red Rocks. I wish I would have seen them in the 80's too. I loved that Blackout album like you wouldn't believe! Thanks for the nice words!

Great link! Klaus liked to throw those drum sticks out all over the place. Such a great night.

Nice report & photos

Glad you got to bag cascade. Such a good looking mountain (lucky for me I get to see it every day). Did you hike from south fork or from the squaw peak road?

Re: Nice report & photos

Thanks for the nice words. I believe it was Squaw Peak Road. I drove the road from Orem in between Cascade and Timpanogos and then there was a road to the right that went to a couple campgrounds. Went from paved to gravel and I started from just past the second campground. I could see Squaw Peak most of the day especially hiking up the valley so I think it was from Squaw Peak Road. Is South Fork a better hike?

Re: Nice report & photos

Nice report...I also love Cascade. I think South Fork is a similar hike but I actually think the way you went has slightly better mountain scenery and a less steep trail to the ridge/saddle.

Red Rocks

Is hands-down my favorite concert venue. I just saw Alan Jackson there - amazing show. Scorps would have been nice, too.

Only complaint about the venue? They need to drunk-proof it. Navigating your way OUT of Red Rocks at the end of the night is treacherous! The dimly-lit stairs, the tree branches, etc...not very safe for concert-goers after a few drinks in the dark! ;-)

Re: Red Rocks

Agreed. Those stairs are a climb in themselves. Never seen anything like that. I almost turned in and downclimbed them. ;- ) Although I think the $8 beer prices do a decent job of keeping too much beer from flowing too.

Way to get on it, Brian

Glad to hear you had a good time in CO- on & in the rocks! Concert musta rocked you like a hurricane, & it sounds like you had a good time at higher altitudes, too! Quite possibly gonna be up around your neck of the woods again fairly soon- I'll let ya know if so. Take care.
