"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Road walkGot buzzed in by the campground visitor center, then parked at Kelly Lake and walked straight up the road. Still a lot of snow in the area, but views and clouds were beautiful. Even saw the Amtrak trans-continental go by below!

W. CouloirI would like to propose re-naming the west couloir as "Selina's Couloir" in honor of Selina Foster, a highly accomplished accomplished skier and backcountry enthusiast who passed away last week at the age of 22. The west couloir is a fantastic steep skiing descent when safe to do so and re-naming it after Selina is a great way to honor her memory.

Good Practice PeakCool peak for winter climbing practice and it's close to the freeway. Climbed this peak with SMG and had a great time.

NW FaceWith Dad (below) and Sis. Cross-country scrambling and waist deep snow. Not as much fun as Dad would have you believe.

NW FaceTook the kids up this little beauty. Made 'em go the hard way - straight up from the railroad tracks. Tried to take the road going back, but got bogged down in slushy snow. Much fun. Trip Report
