I parked at Pacheco State Park to pick up some friends who were completing a grand traverse of the peaks between Pacheco Pass and Quien Sabe Road. I tagged Spikes Peak around noon after meandering through fields of wildflowers and green grass. I then opted to strike off cross country to meet Eric and Mason atop Mariposa Peak and was rewarded with great scenery. I saw some elk along the way. We admired impressive wildflower displays on the way to point 2,743 and Shelley Hill before making our way to the parking lot. I would not mind returning someday to tag Cathedral, Ararat, Twin Peaks, and maybe some others.

From Lone Tree Rd
Stealth hike at night from near the end of Lone Tree Rd to the southwest. I didn't think I'd find a register on this obscurity, but lo and behold, David and party beat me to it. Good job guys! Trip Report
