Lots of Snow
The NFS closed the access road so my dog and hiked up to the lower trailhead near the campground. Total hiked was approximately 10.5 miles with nearly 2,000' of elevation gain. There was as much as one foot of snow on the road on some sections. It made for a beautiful day of hiking with the dog but no summit.

From Ramsey CG
Hiked the trail from Ramsey CG starting mid day after climbing the Empire Mountains HP in the morning. Encountered 3 parties on my way up but had the summit for myself and didn't see anybody on my descent. Lovely views during the entire hike and from the summit.

From Ramsey CG
We were the only people at the trailhead when we arrived in the late morning. And we had this entire, beautiful trail all to ourselves. (We hiked during the week on the day before Thanksgiving.) This hike is beautiful from start to finish, most of the walking has long-range, tree-free views. Enjoyed lunch and a nap at the summit under the watchful eye of a border patrol blimp.

Beautiful day in the Huachucas
Hiked from Ramsay Vista Campground on the Carr Peak Trail. Then hiked on to Miller Peak and returned to the CG. Saw two border agents, but no one else.

Carr trail
On the way to Miller on a mostly-failed P5K-bagging trip. Trip report.

Too tired to bag Miller
My dad was not feeling well and so we decided to go for Carr instead of Miller.

Flyin Hi
Hiked up the decent trail with my wife. Ate lunch on top
and watched three hang gliders soaring east of Reef Mine area.
Saw other parties on trail - a popular hike in the fall.
I hiked Carr Peak with my father. We started just before 7AM, reached the top before 10AM, and got back to the trailhead at noon. The weather was good, not too hot, with the occasional nice cool breeze. There were some puffy clouds building up, but it was nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, there were some wildfires burning in southern Arizona (including a fire in the Coronado National Memorial to the south), so the air was kinda hazy, and not conducive to taking pictures. Oddly enough, we saw no one else on the trail, and when we returned, there were no other cars in the parking lot.
