From the busy snow play area
It was cold - in the teens F - with high winds. We broke trail following a snowstorm. The dogs enjoyed the snow, and we loved the views from the top, esp. of the ski area and the backside of the crest.
Note that the approach driveway and parking lot were plowed so people could use the snow play area. Many other parking areas and driveways in this region were NOT plowed and not accessible.

Foggy...
Short and quick trip on a foggy and cold fall day. Nice views of the Sandia Ski Area to the southwest. Aspens were changing so that made it nice too!

run up the road
I started from the TH for Palomas Pk. on NM 165. Ran the roughly 2 miles up the road to where a trail heads up the drainage west of the peak. I found some foot and ski tracks in the snow. Confusing route finding near the top. Snow on the ground all the way, but not very deep. About 2 hours and 5+ miles RT

HowlsMy second time here. Greeted by coyote howls near the top. Overcast day but a nice hike.
