North Approach
My wife and I hiked to the summit from GERP. Starting in the trail parking lot, we took a northerly detour to avoid the active shooters in the canyon. The area suffered a destructive fire in 2017, so most of the hike was over bare ground. We followed a valley to a small ridge next to a water tank before heading toward the summit. The grade was very gentile except for the final scramble to the peak. Interesting rock formations there with nice views of Spanish Springs and Sparks-Reno to the south. T-shirt weather in January!

From the west
Possibly the easiest summit in the Reno area. Did Canoe Hill in the early morning and the Flowery Range in the afternoon. Trip Report.

Easy day
It was an easy hike up both of these summits. I stayed only a minute on the higher summit due to excessive bugs. The lower summit didn't have so many bugs. They were really only at the higher summit for some reason.
