Hot
Came to do a conditioning hike after a half-day at work. The ground radiated so much heat that it was roughly 109 degrees where the breeze didn't blow. Smoggy inland views, and the ocean was blocked by fog.

Great business trip morning workout
During a period of unseasonable cold (rental cars in this area do not come equipped with an ice scraper for the windshield, I learned the morning of this hike) I enjoyed this hike with a coworker before a long days of meetings and business dinner. Pretty little mountain, crystal-clear views from the top thanks to recent rains - we could see downtown Los Angeles as well as the Pacific Ocean!

Hellish Traffic
I left Laguna Beach around 10:30am hoping to avoid the worst of the gridlock and didn't get to the first trailhead until nearly 1:00pm. After Sandstone Peak I bagged 4 other dumpster peaklets including Triunfo Lookout, Ladyface, Saddle Peak East, and Calabasas.

From Stunt Road
Stuck in town for the weekend, I decided to do a quick workout in the Santa Monica Mountains. Tagged two peaks on Sierra Club LPS, the first being Calabasas. Easy walk-up following the dirt road/motorway, good views of Agoura Hills and western San Fernando Valley.

Roady
Bagged it after Saddle Peak, while killing a couple days in LA after Sierra Nevada climbing trip. Its just a road all the way up, but decent views over the Santa Monica Mts.

Fire Road from the South
Fourth peak of the day after Rocky Peak, McAuley Peak, and Saddle Peak with Mark and Pat. Continued on to Temescal Peak to finish up the LPC peaks in the area.

Right as the sun set
A really spectacular sunset over the sandstone (?) rock outcroppings and down into the valley.

From Red Rock Canyon via Old Topanga
A quick hike on fire roads, perfect for a morning stroll in the fall/winter with family or dog. Views are less then inspiring of the suburban sprawl that is called Calabasas.

From Old Topanga Road
Hiked it with my brother-in-law from North Carolina and his son. It is one of many once a year hikes together during Thanksgiving get-togethers. Wonderful views of homes in the canyon.

Nice Morning Workout
I've done a fair amount of hiking in this area, but only bothered to head to this point once. Nice hike, but it can get hot early, since you're blocked from the coastal breezes. Nice views of the SF Valley on a clear day...

And the Sun Came
It was over 90 degrees, blazing sunshine and a thick inversion layer settled in. This made an easy hike quite difficult and I had to stop for water and shade - what little there is in chaparral - frequently.
