Small world...Shelby and I were relaxing at the Diamond Lake Resort lodge restaurant yesterday enjoying omelets and the view of Bailey after a nice day of exploring the many waterfalls along the North Umpqua. I remember saying to her "today would have been a great day to climb Thielsen" then some tiny whitecaps whipped up on Diamond Lake, "perhaps a bit windy at 9,000 ft. though." Looks like a fun day, Thielsen was looking pretty nice from the lake area. I live (temporarily) down in Roseburg now, during the week anyway, only 80 miles to the TH!

Re: Small world...Next time, we will stop by and there better be beer and junk food!
We watched the ice sheets on Diamond Lake blow from right to left in the wind from Thielsen all day long. Was interesting.
Omelettes, huh? I think my breakfast was a granola bar in the car on the way down. You win.

DroughtVery bare summit this year. That little "glacier" on Thielsen will probably be gone with a couple more years like this.
