Bobs Hill and Cat Rock
Did this hike and Cat Rock on a 40 degree day. Took about 4 hours round trip. This was my new dog's first hike and she slept the entire way home (about an hour) and is now sleeping on the couch :). If I were a local I would do this hike again just out of convenience, but it wasn't really anything special so I doubt I will make the 2 hour round trip drive again just for this.

Bob, Cat
I have hiked up Bobs Hill many times, usually in combination with nearby Cat Rock. Sometimes I approach it from the Cat Rock trailhead, sometimes from the Manor. Today was nice - 3-5 inches of fresh snow.
Starting from the Manor parking area or free Catoctin Furnace parking area, this hill is my staple for training. It is the best short distance trail with major vertical elevation change in the area--over 1000 feet in a mile and a half.
I started from the Ranger's HQ parking lot and hiked to Cat Rock first then continued on to Bob's Hill before returning to the HQ parking lot. A very nice hike in a light rain. Loved it.

Catoctin Trail
Climbed this during my two-day trip on the Catoctin Trail. Arrived on top in the early morning and really enjoyed the South Lookout. Sat on the rocks, with my legs dangling over the edge for a while. The North Lookout was not nearly as scenic, especially with trees overgrowing part of the lookout. Climbed a second time on April 22, 2011 on Catoctin Trail backpack. I forgot how long the uphill went.

Fall Day
Climbed with my Step-daughter Myranda (7). It was a pretty long hike for her but she made it. Our biggest problem was we forgot about daylight savings and were running out of daylight! HAd to hurry back.
