Matthew Holliman - Dec 1, 2006 5:56 am Date Climbed: Oct 21, 2006
SW Arete / South Face
Scrambled to the south summit, but wasn't 100% confident about downclimbing from the north summit without a rope (lots of exposure and a slightly tricky move), so I backed off from that one. (It looked like it was most likely easy enough to solo, but my gf's already extracted a promise that I'll take her to this area, so I figured I'll go back with a rope for the north summit another time. If it were an SPS peak, I'm pretty sure I'd have summited, though...)

SW Arete / South Face
With Matthew and brothers Glenn and Sam (below), tagged first Cleaver Peak before heading to Blacksmith, then out via Mule Pass. A long 13hr+ day. Trip Report
Route Climbed: Southwest Face from Glacier Col Date Climbed: Sept 6, 2003
Summited the south summit block/pinnacle, and signed the register there, but the north block/pinnacle appears to be the true summit by a couple of feet.
Route Climbed: Southwest Face via Glacier Col Date Climbed: September 6, 21003
Ascended the Horse Creek Trail, then left the trail to gain the Cleaver Notch, up and over Glacier Col, and down and around to the Southwest Face. Did not climb all the way to the top of the Northwest Pinnacle, the highest summit on Blacksmith.
