"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

BassettFR660 was closed at the turnoff to FR659 due to controlled burns in the area. This is in effect until April 30, 2018 according to a note posted at the barriers that closed the road. I parked my car and hiked from there. Long hike but easy to follow trail all the way to the top. One of my favorite hikes in AZ so far. I have to come back for the fall colors some time.

BassettFirst off, we hit the fall colors in Ash Creek at their peak. We hiked through a red, orange, and yellow tunnel to the spring, then up the scenic trail to the ridge. Plenty of people on the summit this day, and I can only assume the colors were the reason. One of my favorites in AZ.

Wonderful RidgelineCamped at the Ash Creek TH the night before and started the next day off on the trail. There are really three parts to this hike: 1. Ash Creek 2. The Climb 3. The ridge
All parts are enjoyable but the rugged looking ridge and great views were the highlights for me. Made the top in 1:40 and relaxed for a bit before cruising back down.

BassettHiked long trail from east with my wife.
A SAHC hiker got lost on this peak by taking
wrong trail on way down - gotta pay a little
attention at the top.
