I've hiked Bald a couple of times. I think I was complaining about it being a hard hike the first time I did it in '05. Went back in June of '08 and I couldn't believe that I was complaining the first time; it was a fun, very easy hike.
I hiked this with my dad when I was only 10.. fun!!

Route: Bald Mountain Trail
Nice, short hike with great views of nearby mountains and lakes in the Uintas. It was our 10-month old boy's first real mountain summit. See "Start 'Em Out Young" trip report for details.
Came back on 9/13/19 and did a loop hike of Reids Peak and Bald Mountain with Kendrick (see "Huckleberries, Goats, & [Mostly] Solid Rock" trip report for details).
Climbed up the standard trail and then down the other side to the saddle between Bald and Reid's Peak with Marauders. The sunrise from the summit was incredible.
Easy trail hike. We were able to watch the sunrise from the summit, then continue on to Reids Peak.

Good hike
This is a fun, short hike that is suitable for everyone. The views are outstanding. Consider this a necessary hike when in the Uintahs.

Standard Route
Sunday morning hike... Didn't see many people and had summit to ourselves. One of the best "bang for your buck" hikes in Utah. Got to the bottom in time for the thunderstorms rolling in from the moisture from hurricane Dean.

Easy and nice view
This mountain was really easy but also rocky! The view of all the lakes from the top are great.

Crowded summit, good views
It would be very tough to find an easier summit at this elevation. Did this on a Wednesday morning and it got very crowded. 3 miles roundtrip with great views of the surrounding ranges as well as numerous lakes. Well worth the time if you're looking for a quick one or just passing through, as I was.
Did this with my wife after classes got out on a Friday afternoon... Despite Labor Day weekend beckoning, we saw only a few other folks on the mountain. Bald Mt was my first climb in the Uintas.
made the summit in about 35 min. the easiest peak above 11k in the state, by far. incredible views from the top - the Uintas to the East and most of the Wasatch to the West, even though they are probably 70 miles away. Several lakes are visible from the top as well, including the popular Mirror Lake to the east. This would make a great family hike - just be sure to watch your kids at the top!
