Bald Eagle
The only ‘birds of prey’ we saw were swarms of hungry mosquitoes- the worst I’ve seen in Washington State. Other than that, a pretty decent scramble - surprised it doesn’t get more attention. It is a bit of work (close to 5000’ cumulative elevation gain), so an early start is recommended.

Second Time Was A Charm
Gimpilator and I attempted Bald Eagle Peak back during March 2010. With Summer-like weather that had extended into October this year (2012), I decided to give it another try. I took the north ridge route and was successful, but I also got numerous scratches, pulled a leg muscle, and temporarily dislocated a should (due to slipping on a steep forest-duff slope). I am very glad I took my microspikes with me, which I wore on the way down.
