"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Indio and Coyote BenchmarkStarted at Cove Oasis, went to saddle between Indio and Coyote. Took the ridge to Indio, placed a new register on the summit. Returned to saddle following a gully system, then climbed Coyote BM. There was already a register in a glass jar on Coyote. Nice views from both peaks. Pleasantly surprised to find a page for Indio on Summitpost :)

Great loop!We were in La Quinta Cove for kids' spring break (and avoiding human interaction during the COVID-19 pandemic) so this was a perfect loop for my son and me to hike from our rental home. We did it counter-clockwise, total time was a bit over 4 hours. There were several pools and a bit of flowing water in the canyon on the way up. The dryfall mentioned in the route description isn't a big deal. I bypassed it, my son climbed straight up, and I think his line was safer. No other obstacles. Previous sign-in was 2/27/19 (Bob Burd), so kind of cool that a peak so accessible to development is climbed so rarely. If you regularly climb off-trail desert peaks, this one is great and not particularly difficult.
