Massiv ascent
Dear Gangolf, hi to you, on SP ! I have to say, that I was successfully on the top of the Massiv, at the Sternfels ! I scrambled in the south-eastern face of the pillar, with the difficulty level UIAA 1 (Kleiner Südriss). The sandstone was good dry and proper, the ascent was possible to do without climbing equipments (I was alone for doing this scrambling ! ). When I was on the top, I discovered a fabulous panorama, which was falling deeply into the bärenbrunner valley ! The trees are yet having their autumnal colors and it was magnificient, atomical for the eyes : orange, brown, yellow and red ! In the next days, I will put some of my new photos on your Sternfels article, about this new ascent ! You will see, the result will be exciting ... Thanx again Gangolf, for valorizing on the web, this magnificient rocky site of the Sternfels (which is one of my favorites, in all the palatian sector ! ). +

Second try
Did a long hike along Pferchfeldfels, Mondfels and Saarbrücker Türmchen. Ended up underneath the east face of the Sternfels massif. Stepped across the deep chasm at the base and scrambled the few metres to the top. Jumped back down.

Ledgeways
Scrambled around the tower and headed for the col between tower and massif. Found a ledge on which I made my way to the top of the massif. Had trouble getting down because of the unstable underground beneath the south face.
