Thunderstorms
Climbed with Rob (HOL). Started from Limpiopungo Lagoon. Hiked straight up by the central ridge. Got some hail hundreds meters below the summit. We left the backpacks and rushed ourselves up to the summit. Very cloudy and warm, perfect weather for a thunderstorm.
Got back to Tambopaxi lodge in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Route Climbed: Central Summit.
Started from Laguna de Limpiopungo at 12:30 pm. We took the trail that goes by the stream and gained altitude later by climbing up the ridge that ends at the base of the central peak.
It snowed during the whole approaching to the base of the peak and until we got to the summit 4,634 m (15,203 ft) at 4:00 pm.
Visibility was poor but the feeling of being up there with Paul, Rebeca (England), Alexandra (Germany) and Gustavo (Ecuador) was great.
Got back to the trailhead at Limpiopungo at 6:30 pm. Nice view of the mountain totally covered by snow.

Better luck this time
Let's see... the first time we had to turn back at the rim and had all our gear stolen from our hiding spot. This time everything went smoothly and I even got good pics. The rim is a hoot in clouds. It feels like your going to fall into nothingness.
