Rollins Pass
Nice after work slog. While standing on the divide I watched the moon rise as the sun set. Pretty cool.

From Railroad Trestle Rollins Pass Rd
After completing my final Gilpin County summit, walked along divide to "Sprint" Peak and RadioBeacon. I had to "sprint" down quickly to avoid the thunderstorms that seem to love this area on the divide.
Route Climbed: northeast couloir Date Climbed: 10-15-2005
10-15-2005, we parked the landcruiser below the forest lakes trailhead. rollins pass road was in good
shape with deep snow on the road in the shaded and north facing areas. we bushwhacked our way down toward forest lake and made our way to the south ridge.. colorado had a major snow storm a few days earlier and we expected to get some better turns. after logging 20 or so good turns we decided to climb the couloir/route and make our way up the to the summit. no wind at all and great views of winter park. we countinued north on the ridge ending at 11,800 with a great view of the needle eye tunnel. great day we logged some turns in spring conditions - 4 mile total
