Chamanna dal Stradin - Piz Julius Ceasar
Started at Chamanna dal Stradin (2161m) near the Julierpass. Up to the Furcla Albana (2870m) and over the ridge to Piz Julier (3380m).
Great hike along the ridge & many people on route. We had a great day with grand views!
Started from the parking lot in Suvretta and then took the normal signed route up and down. Great weather. Cables not needed for ascent but they came in handy for a fast descent.

Normal route
Started from the campsite in St.moritz. Easy going, with in deed to many chains.

This mountain is well known as "Piz Guglia", as the blue signal indicates at the begin of the path.
Too many chains, in my opinion. Anyway, nice ascent.

Started in good weather...
Got invited by two Italian friends to climb the Piz Julier today. Even though it's rated F(acile), I must say that it wasn't that easy this early in the season, especially since there was 50cm of fresh snow. We didn't break out the crampons or rope, but there were definitely some tricky parts on the exposed ridge. Most chains were still hidden by the snow, or completely stuck to the rock by a thick layer of ice. Just before we summited it started snowing again and the weather turned bad. Still, had a really nice day.

Excellent Climb
One of my favourite mountain routes of all time. An excellent exposed ridge route with via ferrata. Got to the summit, to see storm clouds on the other side, then had to get down as quickly as possible. Just made it, storm broke 30 minutes after I was off the ridge. I dedicate this climb to Cyrill and his wife, thank you for all your contributions to Summit Post.

Piz Julier 3380m
One of my first mountain tour. Unforgettable. With my ex-girlfriend Andrea. She was a good girl! And Piz Julier is a good mountain.
