"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Lawn Lake with BighornWe enjoyed an amazing blue bird day on these two peaks ... But it was so cold and windy up top we couldn't even breath on the summit!

With Bighorn Mtn in winterFrom Lawn Lake TH. Loop over Tileston and Bighorn in fresh, deep snow. Tileston makes a great winter peak when the weather sucks up high... only the final 10 minutes are exposed to wind and blowing snow. Missed all the supposedly great views though.

Mummy MasochismPeak 7 of 8, did a variation of "Mummy Mania" we dubbed "Mummy Masochism" because we tacked 2 bushwhack 11ers on to the end. Appx 19 miles, 7000 vertical - climbed Chapin, Chiquita, Ypsilon, Fairchild, Hagues, Mummy, Tileston and Bighorn.

SnowGreat fall day for hiking. Mild day along the river, snowy and cool closer to treeline. This was a pleasurable hike, with good views from the summit. Mummy Mountain is always nice to look at from this close.

Northwest SlopeHiked the Northwest Slope Route after a camp at the Lawn Lake backcountry campsite. I enjoyed the open grassy areas leading up to the summit. Descended east then south to visit peaceful Potts Puddle on the way back to camp.

TilestonOn the way back from Lawn Lake we hike up the Black Canyon trail until it starts back downhill and then followed the ridge south across reasonably open woods and open meadows to Tileston's summit. Nice views of Mummy and Hagues, plus a great view of Roaring River and the 1982 flood damage. Lovely little summit that doesn't get much visitation.

Frrom Black Canyon TrailheadTwo ascents, both from the Black Canyon Trailhead. Nice point to point hike if you start at Black Canyon Trailhead (now the Lumpy Ridge Trailhead) and finish at the Lawn Lake Trailhead.

Traverse from Bighorn Mtn.Kind of a boring summit really. But some cool crags along the top. Good for bouldering. Had great weather and didn't see anyone for most of the day. Can't argue with that.
The views of Mummy Mountain's South face were amazing!
