Brutally windy
Coming off Democrat with intentions for Lincoln but bailed on Cameron due to the severe winds. Actually had to sit down for almost 10 minutes...simply couldn't stand.

Gale-force winds on top. I didn't even slow down on my way to Lincoln.
Felt like February.....postholing in snow to my knees and extremely strong winds.

Against the Wind
It was a wild windy day and the 20 lbs. of rocks I had placed in my backpack helped A LOT considering I'm only 119 lbs. LoL! I didn't realize Cameron's summit has so flat a curvature till I stood on it...a major contrast compared to Lincoln and Democrat.

Lots of Snow
Cameron was a blast, we finished Democrat early and headed down. There was a ton of snow so we played all the way up to the summit. Practice some self arrest, hung over a large cornice. This is a fun peak with all this snow. With the sun beating down it was also very hot. My best friend and I did our usual type trip from Oklahoma. Drive all night, sleep a couple of hours, go for the summit. We had never done more than one 14er on any trip but we decided to give this a whirl. Doing Democrat was the most difficult, we had not time to adjust to the altitude difference from Oklahoma to Colorado so we both felt queezy. Arriving at the summit was great! Completed Cameron, Linclon and Bross glissaded down the face of Bross. Great way to finish. Easy descent. All of these four peaks were done before these were closed recently.

4 peak day
Started at Kite Lake, hiked up to Democrat, traversed over the Cameron, then Lincoln and finally Bross before coming down the western side of Bross back to Kite Lake. If you miss the trail coming down Bross it is a scree field that isn't much fun to come down. Even my Golden Retriever didn't care for that. Otherwise it was a great day.
