I started hiking up Tincup pass Rd in St. Elmo. Left the road at Sawmill Hill (tree-line) and went up the eastern slopes of Fitzpatrick Peak. Dense growths of bushes made it hard to hike. At an elevation of 12000-12200 ft, the bushes finally went away. On the way back, I followed the easy northern ridgeline of Fitzpatrick to the 12412 ft saddle where I found a beaten path that allowed me to bypass the steep scree slopes of Point 12780 ft and make it back to Tincup Pass Rd.
