Re: Nice pic...Thanks for the comment. Yes, I think this is one of the more enjoyable ferratas, not too long, and not too easy!
Cheers,
Ejnar

Lucky ManWonderful pictures, the peaks are amazing. Plus I think you have to be the luckiest man to have a wife that will follow you to the tops of those peaks.

Re: Lucky ManMany thanks for the kind comments. Yes, I have been very fortunate to have a wife, who has always been at least as fond of the mountains as I.

Re: Nice picture...Thank you for the comment. Yes my wife is quite a brave woman - although not to be compared to your daughter! I was very moved on reading the newspaper article about how she died in the thread yesterday.
Sincerely,
Ejnar

Re: Three ....Thank you, yes she was quite calm, and it wasn't a very difficult stretch either - there just was a nice ledge for taking photos!

WOWMy husband and I (both 40 ish) just started doing the hiking thing this year. We love it but are worried that we're getting into it too late to REALLY get into it. He wants to start technical climbing...I thought it was too late.
You are an inspiration to us!! Now I know I have LOTS of climbing fun to look forward to!
Thanks.

Re: WOWThanks for the comment. I would say that being in the forties, and if you are strong hikers, you should not hesitate to get into some real climbing, the best will be to have somebody experienced take you along in the beginning. Ferratas are another way to get used to really steep rock, and can be found in any degree of difficulty (mostly in Europe, I am afraid).

Great pictureIs that an old cable bolted into the mountain? Does it go from the bottom all the way to the top? Are there a lot of mountains in Europe that have this? I ask because I haven't seen any of these in the States (Not that there arn't). I've seen some old stuff pounded into rocks here but not a pre-strung lead cables. Pretty nice. I don't know if the environmentalists would like it to much though. Thanks for the photo.
