Good Exercise
Great exercise - this was the first of two hikes on this trail to the Hardesty Mountain Summit. The 11+ mile round trip hike took a little under 5 hours. Started at 7 am - no one but me on this hike - enjoyed it all to myself.

Great hike
Headed up with the wife and kids. Good road in and an easy little hike to burn off some of the Thanksgiving calories.

hardesty mt
good trail for gaining some elevation close to home.
I was up here this year for a Hardesty roadless circuit. It helped prepare me for Mt Shasta/Wintum ridge route the following week.
It is a nice forest/area but must hike over to June for the views.

Bears on the Sawtooth Trail
Hiked over from Mt. June in neat rays of sunlight on the trail. Unfortunately, the gloom settled in by the time I hit the summit. On the way back I played around on the rock pinnacles and Sawtooth Rock before running into a mother black bear and her cub in the meadow. They ambled into the woods right where I had to hike back so there was much shouting and singing to make sure they knew where I was. Very pretty hike.
