Quick hike before the crowds descended on the trail for the gorgeous wildflower bloom.

Cave peak combo
Great little hike that I took the whole family on. We then hit up Sisters for lunch and stopped by Skylight Cave on the way home. Great day for the kids.

More wildflowers and views!
We did this hike after visiting nearby Bachelor Mountain. More great mountain views (from Mount Hood to Three Sisters especially Mount Jefferson) and more wildflowers, especially beargrass. Fantastic!

Climbed twice by way of Quartzville creek
I had taken my step boys up here twice in the nineties for wildflower hikes and great views of Jefferson. The boys and I would come in from Swwethome by way of the goldmining area of Quartzville.

1 of 2 w/ Bachelor Mtn.
Holy smoke. The wildflowers were unbelievable - and only matched by the 360 view from the top. Big steep snow bank to kick-step up in order to circumvent the snow on the trail. Really great hike and E to the Z.
With my son. 2nd of 3 mountains this day. Had to turn back around 5300 feet due to not enough time left to summit and also climb Triangulation Peak. We did get in the steepest part though, was a good quick workout. Will be back to summit sometime, and the road in is worth it for the drive itself.
Enjoyed a beautiful day with my kids. It was so wonderful to reach the top of a peak with all three of them! And to have someone really working in the fire lookout was pretty cool to us also!

Great family climb
Colleen, her little chickens and I did this hike mid morning before it really got hot. We were pleasantly surprised by all the colorful wild flowers. The hike seemed shorter than 2.5 miles. We've always used this mountain as a bearing point because we can usually see it from most peaks in our playground. It was great to finally be on it looking back at our playground.
If you get up there in the next couple of weeks, you can stand on a patch of snow!

Did this one and neighboring Bachelor Mountain after doing middle pyramid, I then went on to do double peaks near Olallie lake for a 4 summit day! Fun! still a little snow left in spots.

Route Climbed: Coffin Mountain Trail Date Climbed: August 28, 2005A nice short hike. Great views of the Cascades. Chatted pleasantries with the woman staffing the lookout. Super craggy below the lookout.
