Fun hike with some awesome views of the IPW to the NW. I also included Papoose and Squaw. A bit of snow on the northern aspects but the trail was easy to follow as it is well traveled.
Route Climbed: Chief Mtn Trail Date Climbed: April 2, 2005
We hiked up Squaw, Chief, Papoose, and Warrior from the Squaw Pass Road under beautiful conditions. The trails to Squaw and Chief were well-trodden, but snowshoes were necessary for Papoose and Warrior.

I've done this one a few times, in summer and winter. It's a good hike with great scenery.
Route Climbed: Chief Mountain Trail Date Climbed: December 26, 1994
I've climbed up this four or five times, year round. Unless immediately after a snowstorm, the trail seems to be well packed and obvious to follow, once you locate the TH. My winter climbs have not needed snowshoes, but you will find some deeper drifts that you'll posthole thru near timberline.
Route Climbed: North Slopes from road. Date Climbed: March 16, 2005
This was my second time up Chief but my first in winter. Unfortunately, a storm rolled in and the view to the west was completely obstructed. It was incredibly cold up there 20 degrees with gusts up to 80 mph. Standing up wasn't easy. Great climb, and great solitude.
