I drove to the top. I really enjoyed the view north to the Tushars and southeast towards Escalante.

walked up the road
We drove to within two thirds of a mile from the top and parked where a snow drift was still blocking the road. My son Lance (age 15), Skyler Sudweeks (15) and my daughter Tori (8) hiked with me to the top. On the way down, I had them hike south off the peak and I picked them up where their route intersected the dirt road. A year later I was up here again with my Dad (70) on July 27, 2005. No snow that time so we drove all the way up. Sidney Peaks (11,060) is another nice peak hike just 2.25 miles to the northeast of Brian Head. I led a hike up that one with a bunch of Boy Scouts and their leaders (17 people total) on June 11, 2003. Update - Winter ascent on cross-country skis with Robby Dilg on March 18, 2022

Great area
We had a family reunion at the Brianhead lodge and simply walked up to the summit of this easy peak. Nearby Cedar Breaks Nat'l Monument really makes this a great area and worth a visit.
Did it again on Aug 16th, 2006, with my son who had not visited the top nor experienced the view. That oversight was corrected on our trip to get the county highpoints of Kane and Washington counties.

Nice place
I was in the area to do the Rattlesnake Creek / Ashdown Gorge hike and all of the rim hikes around Cedar Breaks. I thought I might as well go to the highest point while I'm there. There is a paved road nearby so this makes it an easy mountain to climb.
Fall, a few years ago, new to the west, I looked through my AAA atlas & noted an 11,307-ft peak called Brian Head Peak not too far from Vegas.
Driving up there to about 11,000 feet, I hiked to the top via the trail/cross-country combo from the northeast, then drove home, checking out Cedar Breaks on the way.
