"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

15th Summit on this TripMy dogs and I took the long way to the top. We hiked the entire ridgeline coming from the south so we just didn't have enough day light to get Ireteba Peak as well. I guess we need to come back one day.

Ireteba to Bard loopEasy enough hike with some nice desert stones. The ridge is a lot of fun.

Half TraverseFirst stop in a ridge traverse over to the "MacLeod/Lilley highpoint" a mile north of Ireteba.
Not sure Bard really warrants its own page- its really just one of a half dozen lower highpoints along the ridge and quite close to Ireteba.
Pics are here.

Bard-Ireteba loopSometime in 2006, I did a quick morning loop of Bard and Ireteba, then met some friends to do Castle Peak, a much better peak on the other side of the highway. Great day out.

Bard-Ireteba LoopHiked up Bard Peak and then over to Ireteba Peak. Great views of the Colorado River, Lake Mojave, and all the mountains in the great 360 degree view.
