eric b !Greetings from Arizona. I am from Washington
State, and I have seen this bird in the
Cascade Range. It goes by MANY names. I've
heard it called the CAMP ROBBER, THE GREY
JAY, THE WHISKEYJACK and ARCTIC JAY.
The scientific name is Perisoreus canadensis.
Thanks for sharing! WONDERFUL picture.

Re: eric b !yeah I'm not an ornithologist by any streatch of the imagination. I saw this bird here on SP before going by several different names so I really didn't know what it was called I just guessed cuz I knew it was a jay. They came to us when we were admiring the view of Webster cliffs/slides and they saw us eating and I could tell right away they wanted some! The first piece he actually stole as I broke it off the bar! Thanks for the information.

CAMP ROBBER ...Once, I saw one eat an entire sandwich!
I wonder if it wanted me to "hold the mayo!"
Maybe, SP members should put these birds
in an ALBUM. It would keep them out of
trouble? Nooooooooooooo !!!
